What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that is sent to the device of a website visitor. The cookie is stored on the device so that it may be sent back to the website upon the next visit.

Cookies used by the websites of the Chamber of Deputies

The websites of the Chamber of Deputies use session cookies, which do not collect data enabling the identification of users, but simply transmit data relating to visitor sessions, and only to the extent necessary for a safe and efficient website browsing experience. Session cookies are not stored permanently on users’ devices, and are automatically deleted when the browser is closed.

No cookies are used for user profiling purposes, nor are any other active or passive tracking tools used.

The websites of the Chamber of Deputies use technical or equivalent cookies only, which, under the meaning of the Data Privacy Watchdog’s Guidelines on cookies, published in the Official Gazette of 9 July 2021, General Series No 163, do not require the consent of the user (as per Article 122.1 of the Personal data protection code, and as stipulated in the foregoing Guidelines).
